Responsibilities :
MOONTON is looking for a passionate and driven individual to lead our esports community efforts in Indonesia. As the Community Marketing Manager in our ID esports team, you will lead and own all community management initiatives across our audience base, from franchise team superfans, to students, online communities, and more.
You will be leveraging communities to drive key business priorities, such as running MPL ID’s official superfans league, amplifying tournament narratives, building rivalries, generating UGC, driving onsite attendance / event participation, and more. You will also drive the success of major ecosystem tournaments in Indonesia, such as MWI, SEA Games, Asian Games, and support local third party / community tournament organisers.
A suitable candidate must have a successful track record in community management, running community activations, and managing groups / moderators. This candidate must be highly proactive, is able to build bridges / rally support among communities, is detail oriented, and be able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Develop and execute community-facing initiatives to drive league objectives, i.e. amplifying narratives, building rivalries, generating discussion / UGC, driving registration / participation, securing attendance for esports matches, and more.
- Manage all internal and external community platforms, e.g. MPL ID’s FB group and Discord, universities / student clubs, superfans, and more. Establish strong influence and penetration within these communities.
- Own and lead the MPL ID superfans league, drive growth and impact of the program for the long term.
- Establish and manage a comprehensive moderator program, develop a solid pipeline of moderators to support league requirements / initiatives.
- Serve as the primary community and marketing liaison with all MPL ID franchise teams with the goal of driving higher participation and effort in growing their communities.
- Oversee superfan regulation and guidelines. Ensuring teams communities adhere to regulations and uphold sportsmanship. Lead any mediations between the league and teams when required.
- Champion and amplify key ecosystem tournaments and third-party IPs within Indonesia, such as national tournaments, women’s tournaments, campus tournaments, and more. Drive success via facilitation of promotional resources, live stream slots, technical support, etc.
- Manage the application and review process for third-party tournaments, providing tiered support and resources to high-value ecosystem / community tournament organizers.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with franchise teams (from execution to management) and ecosystem organizers.
Qualifications :
- 6-8 years of experience in community management or an equivalent role within the gaming, esports, technology, or entertainment industry.
- Experience in organising community tournaments, building communities, managing community groups, being a moderator or managing groups of moderators.
- Track record in establishing influence within communities and developing / executing community strategies that drive engagement, growth, and positive sentiment.
- Experience managing online communities on platforms such as Discord, Facebook Groups, Telegram/WhatsApp, etc.
- Strong knowledge of the Indonesian esports scene, particularly the MPL ID ecosystem.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and verbal).
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, franchise teams, etc.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
